Water Security, Conservation, Channeling Storm Water Runoff Fire Safety Land Stewardship

Water Security- In an emergency + an earthquake- flooding rains- we may be cut off for a few days and required to "shelter in place" at home. I would like our local water board to be able to manage our water in the event of an interruption in our water supply. I support the current activities of the water board, especially water conservation, projects for managing runoff, fire safety, and lands management. Stewardship of our unique natural niche in the Oak forest, requires us to prevent fire, and to deal with the risks posed by Sudden Oak Water Board. The Fire Safety committee has cleared brush creating defensible space to keep a fire from spreading.

Our community serves as a wildlife corridor between Coal Mine Ridge, Windy Hill Open Space and Foothill Park. Where we can help to preserve natural habitat, we should. While there may be other similar programs at the county level, we are a remote and small community. Only a local team can address these issues directly. Water Board conservation programs in the community have been the most effective in in conserving water.

My family has lived in the Los Trancos Woods Community for 12 years While my background includes Research in Lung Biology, I have taught Science and Math, Biology and Physics in local Middle and High Schools. I have been a member of Parent Board at GeoKids. At Castilleja I served on the Science Math and Technology Committee. the Parent Education the Language Program Panel. At Corte Madera School in Portola ValleyI was a member of the Parent Board, and the Gate Committee, and helped with grant writing for the district.
