Political Philosophy for Bonnie Weidel
Candidate for |
I am not a political person. I prefer to work directly with like-minded teachers, parents and administrators on programs in which we share vision and efforts to facilitate the programs. Schools throughout the nation and in California are stressed by budget problems, technological changes, population growth, and cultural migrations. Add to that the unrelenting pressures of the testing process that was put in motion by the No Child Left Behind in a national effort to reach uniform achievement levels. My goal as an educator is to facilitate the achievement of each child in the direction of their skills in an effort to ensure their development as a productive and empathetic citizens. Education is a way of life and a process of becoming. As a board member, I seek to ensure options for each child. This means involve the community, improve our state and local funding mechanisms, ensure the quality and commitment of our teaching staff. We have also to provide safe and efficient facilities for the school program. Above all, citizenship begins with the child entering kindergarten and throughout the school experience, we have the opportunity to awaken and reward positive student community interest. |
