We must keep the 2 State Parks open in Benicia to preserve the historic and recreational opportunities they provide.Recently, the State of California put the only 2 State Parks in Solano County on the closure list to balance the State's budget. Unfortunately they are both in Benicia! The Benicia State Capitol is a visable and historic anchor to the Downtown. The recent tourism and marketing efforts highlight the Parks significance in attracting visitors and residents as a tourism draw. The City, staff and the Benicia State Park Association are diligently trying to find a way to negotiate with the State to keep them open. I will continue to bring focus to this important issue for our City. |
