Senator Yee is a 60-year resident of San Francisco and a 23-year veteran of public service to the city, previously and currently serving as:
Leland immigrated to America at age 3 and after attending San Francisco public schools, became the first person in his family to graduate from college. He received a Bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley, a Masters degree from San Francisco State University and a PhD from the University of Hawaii, all in Psychology. He and his wife Maxine have four children, all educated in San Francisco public schools. Leland is a 60-year resident of San Francisco and a 23-year veteran of public service to the city, previously served on the San Francisco Board of Education, Board of Supervisors, and represented San Francisco in the California State Assembly before becoming the first-ever Chinese American elected to the State Senate. He is often regarded as the hardest working representative in San Francisco politics. |
