Statement of TARA MARTIN-MILIUS, Candidate for
Member, Sunnyvale City Council, Seat 7
Occupation: Teacher
Education and Qualifications:

My candidacy first and foremost is to truly be the residents' voice on the decisions being made on and for the future of Sunnyvale. These are the issues that matter to us and affect us all:

(1) Balanced budgets, both long and short term, to be able to deliver or receive necessary services and infrastructure maintenance including our parks and library.

(2) Safety and security of our homes, schools, businesses, and city.

(3) Clean air and water, waste reduction, sustainable energy for all our needs.

(4) Balance between residential and commercial concerns - get our downtown up and running.

I have lived in Sunnyvale for more than 30 years because I love it! Sunnyvale has had a continuously low crime rate, innovative programs, creative collaborations and partnerships. As a homeowner who values the services provided by our city and as an active member of Sunnyvale neighborhoods interested in vibrant communities, I look forward to meeting many of you in this campaign. For additional information, please visit my website at: http://www.TaraForCouncil.org.

Our issues matter, we matter, together we can make a difference. I ask you for your support and your vote on Tuesday, November 8, 2011.
