Redefining "Success" -- and Achieving It
Our current emphasis on Standardized Testing is turning kids off from school and stunting learning. We need to get back to teaching meaningful courses that keep students engaged.
Bilingual Education for All Students
To be successful in Southern California and in the world, our students must be fluent in English and Spanish. Dual-language immersion has been a highly successful pilot program; it's time to implement it in all of our schools.
Common Sense and Local Control
We must wrest control of our district's finances -- both income and expense -- from Sacramento and Washington. Then we must be careful and diligent stewards of the taxpayer's money and quit spending it on things we don't need.
