Political Philosophy for Cathy Murillo
Candidate for |

|
We must enhance Santa Barbara's economic vitality, quality of life, and natural environment, while maintaining the City's small-town feel. I will make budget and policy decisions that benefit all City residents, with a focus on our children, families, and seniors. I am an educator, media professional, and youth advocate. As a journalist, I connected the public to their government, and I will fight to make City Hall more accessible and responsive to us all. I am skilled in communication, research and analysis, seeking diverse opinions, and solving problems creatively. I taught in our elementary schools, mentored at-risk teens, and train UCSB students in broadcast media. Our young people need economic opportunities + I support growth of small businesses and will work to diversify Santa Barbara's business economy. Our public resources must be carefully managed to improve the quality of life for everyone, and the City must provide municipal services efficiently and fairly to all neighborhoods. These are my values. I consider all the residents of Santa Barbara my neighbors. I care about your family, your neighborhood, your prosperity, and your safety. I would be honored to have your vote and support. |
