I have extensive knowledge based on my own professional work experience in private and public institutions. I have managed people and budgets for financial institutions (Wells Fargo Bank), for consumer products (Atari), and for large research entities (Electric Power Research Institute) as well as the federal government (General Services Administration) and state government (Nevada Department of Information Technology). This wide range of experience gives me the knowledge needed to effectively address monetary decisions the Board must make. My first professional career was as a Certified Facility manager helping found the International Facility Management Association. As past President of the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Government Affairs Committee at the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce my commitment to community service has spanned several decades. My educational background includes a B.A. in History with English minor from the University of Redlands; Graduate studies in American Studies (History, Literature, Art History) at the University of Delaware; Graduate study in Public Administration at the Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia; Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy and the Institute of Genealogical and Historical Research at Stamford University (Birmingham, AL). I am a member of the Association of Professional Genealogist, the National Genealogical Society, Second Vice President of the Marin County Genealogical Society, Past Secretary of the Nevada State Genealogical Society, New England Historic Genealogical Society, Iowa Genealogical Society, South Bend Area Genealogical Society, Director at Large for the Sonoma County Genealogical Society and Vice President of the California Genealogical Society and Library. I serve as the Senior Vice Commander of the Sons of Union Veteran of the Civil War--General Alfred Pleasonton Camp No. 24 and as Secretary of the Friend of Civil War Alcatraz and am a member of the Department of Iowa's SUVCW Col. William Kinsman Camp #23 in Atlantic, Iowa as well as a member of the San Francisco Civil War Roundtable. |
