|
Damon Connolly was elected to the San Rafael City Council in 2007. Since his election, Damon has worked hard to sustain our vibrant local economy, protecting vital public services, and balancing our budget. He's made sure City Hall is more responsive to the needs of San Rafael's neighborhoods, helped expand transportation options for local residents, and helped reduce San Rafael's contribution to global warming. Before he served on the City Council, Damon was a board member and president of the Dixie School District Board of Trustees. He currently serves as the Chair of Marin Energy Authority (MEA), which provides Marin County residents with electricity with much more renewable content than PG&E and at competitive prices. He also chaired the San Rafael-based Community Advisory Committee on Transit, and currently serves on the Board of the YMCA of Marin. Damon is an attorney working in private practice. He also served as a Supervising Deputy Attorney General for the State of California, prosecuting the energy companies that gouged our state during the California energy crisis. A Bay Area native, he attended college and law school at UC Berkeley. Damon has lived in North San Rafael for the past fifteen years with his wife, Dawn, and their two daughters, Brette and Darin. Damon and his family love living in San Rafael. Its natural beauty, small town neighborhood feel, and strong sense of community make it a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Experience
