Family: Married to Barbara Kreitman. Two sons in Carmel schools: Nicholas graduated from Carmel High last spring and is attending UC Santa Barbara. Aaron is an 8th grader at Carmel Middle School.

Education: Stuyvesant H.S., New York, 1966; Stanford University, BA, 1970, Economics and Latin American Studies; Cornell University, MA, 1974, Agricultural Economics.

Professional Experience: My first career was with the U.S. State Department as a Foreign Service Officer and economist with the U.S. Agency for International Development(USAID) in Costa Rica and Washington D.C. For the last 30 years or so I've been in the private sector in business and finance. I recently retired from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney after 14 years as a financial advisor and Certified Financial Planner. My entire professional career has involved management, finance, planning, and analysis, in small and large companies, public and private. I know what it takes to successfully set organizational goals and implement programs to achieve them. I am an excellent budget analyst and auditor, skills that will serve us well on the Carmel School Board.

Carmel Schools Experience: Since my sons began in the District ten years ago I have been an active participant and volunteer in the Carmel Schools, having served on the boards of the River School PTA, the Middle School PTO Board, the FOCUS Foundation, and the Carmel High School Foundation. I was also a member of the Carmel River School and Carmel High School Site Councils and served on several School District working committees focused on academic improvement and performance, including co-chairing the District GATE working committee with the Asst. Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. I have volunteered and tutored in the classroom, taught after-school enrichment classes, and have been active in fundraising and community events.
