Tom Jennings' Passion for Educating Our Children

Marina schools' academic performance scores are dropping at an alarming rate and Monterey Peninsula Unified School District Board members are not acting with transparency to represent the community. It's time for a change.

That's why I, Tom Jennings, am running for MPUSD's seat in Marina. Over the past 18 years, I have been passionate and dedicated in volunteering in parent-teacher organizations and coaching in youth athletics.

If elected, I will validate the importance of teachers, classified staff, parents and community members working together, as a team, to best serve the needs of our students.

Recently school board members raised administrators' salaries in these difficult economic times?! That is not the way to turn things around. We need to set up systems that invite parents to become more a part of their children's education so that students can achieve success, not failure.

We need more mentoring programs, more homework clubs, and more of a welcoming environment for parents and community members to help students become successful. It is important to vote for me for the future of our community.
