I was raised by a public schoolteacher in rural Humboldt County and attended rural public schools. I hold a bachelor's degree from Yale University and a master's degree from UC Berkeley. I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, a graduate of Leadership Mendocino, and an active member of the UUSD Budget Advisory Committee. I have worked as a policy aide to an Oakland City Councilmember and during that time, I was exposed to and learned from highly skilled politicians working in a complex, diverse environment. In my current professional life as the Program Administrator responsible for Healthy Kids and Food For All Mendocino, I advocate for children's health and well-being. My husband and I have two young daughters and have lived in Ukiah since 2002. As a mother, community member, and a working professional, I believe that my skills and experience will enable me to bring positive change to our schools.
