My primary role on the school board would be to help create a working atmosphere where students, parents, teachers, classified staff, administrators, and community members work together smoothly, building on each other's expertise and passion so that students succeed.
As a School Board Trustee, my primary role will be to help create a working atmosphere where students, parents, teachers, classified staff, administrators, and community members work smoothly together, building on each other's expertise and passion so that students succeed.

Working together more effectively is the key to graduating more students from high school. Currently our rate is less than 75%. It should be at least 95%. I offer a unique combination of skills to this effort. First, I'm an effective problem-solver known for helping to create outstanding programs for children in Mendocino County. Second, I'm a natural collaborator. I know how to bring together local people to create win-win solutions that benefit Mendocino County kids. Third, I'm an experienced fundraiser. I know how to use local government funds as a match to attract generous contributions from outside sources.

Currently, I'm the Director of FIRST 5 Mendocino, a children's advocacy and grant making organization. Before that, I ran a large non-profit organization with 350 employees. I was trained as a lawyer, and have also served as a City of Ukiah Planning Commissioner. My husband and I are raising two children who both attend Ukiah Unified schools.
