Running on my record and proud of itBy Brian David Goldberg, PhDCandidate for Governing Board Member; Beverly Hills Unified School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
A highlight of my proven leadership, courage and experience on the Board of Education for the past four years.RUNNING ON MY RECORD AND PROUD OF IT LEADING an early, vocal and strong opposition to MTA's plan to tunnel a subway under our high school. SUCCESSFULLY transitioning our schools to Basic Aid status thereby keeping millions of dollars in our classrooms. FULFILLING my pledge of oversight by spearheading the establishment of a Facilities Advisory Committee and the Finance Committee. RAISING academic standards so that all students meet the necessary requirements for acceptance to a four year college. HAVING the courage to be the only Board Member to vote against hiring Karen Christensen and Strategic Concepts who mismanaged our voter approved bond funds. DEMANDING that those who benefitted from the misappropriation of School District monies be held accountable and taking action to recover the losses. As your School Board member, I have proven that one person can make a difference. I have taken stands that reflect my commitment to what is right for our children, parents, teachers and residents of our community. Together we have accomplished much but there is still work to be done. I need your support and your vote on Tuesday, November 8th. Enclosed is an envelope that lists the ways you can support my re-election and participate in our grassroots campaign. I look forward to talking with you about vital school issues and meeting each of you on the campaign trail. |
