- Promoted a program to assist homeowners who were at risk of foreclosure
- Cultivated a strong, comprehensive tax base to fund vital City services and key development projects
- Fostered a collaborative and thriving business environment
- Promoted prudent fiscal policies to ensure the ongoing stability of our City government
Increased Public Safety
- Enhanced police training and community involvement, and disaster preparedness and response
- Expanded paramedic training, service, and community outreach to seniors, students, and children
- Supported the City's CERT (Citizens Emergency Response Training) program
Improved Education

Protected and Enriched Our Environment
- Oversaw the completion of 8 new parks, the Community Gardens, Peralta Art Garden, and 59th Street Garden, and the planting of hundreds of new trees
- Implemented the clean up of toxic "brownfield" sites (our project won the Global Environment Award)
- Worked with the City of Berkeley to extend the Greenway to the Berkeley/Emeryville border
- Completed Doyle Hollis Park
- Created a Public Trust to preserve our shoreline
- Re-built our Marina
- Established the Stop Waste, Multi-Family Green Building Guidelines for Emeryville
Improved Transportation
- Launched the Emery-Go-Round, which carries over 1 million riders for free per year and takes hundreds of cars off the streets, and established a Public Benefit Improvement District to cover its funding, which is paid for by commercial interests not residential taxpayers
- Added our new, local Amtrak station, the first new train station in California in 50 years, around which we will build more transit-oriented development
- Supported bicycle and pedestrian improvements to improve mobility
- Completed the crucial traffic calming project in the Triangle area
- Ensured Emeryville remained among the top three cities in Alameda County when it came to the quality of our roads
