Smart Voter Full Biography for Matthew Joseph

Candidate for
Member, Board of Education; Harrison Central School District; Seat currently held by David A. Singer

This information is provided by the candidate

My wife, Michele, and I have three children in the Harrison elementary schools. I am the product of a diverse socio-economic public school system. The District I grew up in valued all students. Michele and I chose to move to Harrison because we wanted our children to be raised in a similar environment. I believe that our District should allow and encourage students of all abilities to reach their full potential.

I frequently attend PTA meetings, Board meetings and District events. I have coached and still coach many of our children's sports teams including Rec soccer, baseball and softball, travel soccer, lacrosse and wrestling. For a number of years, I served as a board member and Treasurer of a large Manhattan coop apartment building. I believe in getting involved. I believe that it is time for me to take the same initiative with our schools. I know I can make a real difference in furthering our progress. As an experienced corporate attorney, I will ask tough and thoughtful questions and analyze all available information.

I am running independently without the backing of any political organization (new or old).
