Task which came to fruition as your Councilman for Carson (2004-2009)In 4 years, I accomplished the following: 1. I take considerable pride in getting the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" publicly displayed in the City Council chambers. 2. I instituted my quarterly "LET'S TALK" open house, a one-on-one session where the constituent does a good deal of the talking and I listen. As a result, the constituent is assured that I will forward his/her concerns to the appropriate department for a quick response and/or resolution. 3. I introduced the "ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER" to the city as a low cost way to keep constituents informed and involved. 4. I fought for the expeditious completion of the traffic safety projects such as: Traffic Signals - Del Amo Blvd. @ Tillman Ave. Traffic Signals - Main St. & 231st St. Traffic Signal + Central Ave. & Helmick St. Street Lighting + 223rd St. between Main St. & Moneta Ave. Street Lighting + University Dr. between Campaign Dr. & Central Ave. 5. I initiated the Monthly Progress Reports to council on infrastructure improvement projects to keep council and the community informed of the progress of this multi-million dollar program. 6. I helped to enhance the business community through the redevelopment process of public/private partnerships such as the University Square Shopping Center at the corner of Avalon Blvd. and Albertoni St. |
