Political Philosophy for John D'Amico
Candidate for |
My name is John D'Amico and I am running to be your representative, your voice on the West Hollywood City Council. Our city is not the city council. Our city is the people who live here and love this place and all that it stands for. We have all watched our city improve in many exciting ways and have all contributed to help the city grow, but we have also watched our city leaders leverage our core values, the very things that make this city great, for their personal projects. We have seen our urban village sacrificed by their lack of vision and failure to listen to the voice of the people who live here. In recent years, the voice of the people has been drowned out by the clamor of special interests at City Hall. This City is the special place we all love because of us, the residents. Our voices should be heard at City Hall. It is time for us to stand up and take our city back. It is time to put the "We" back in WeHo. We, all of us, need to do our part. This campaign, this election, is about regular people. It is about all of us who go to work every day, who talk with our neighbors, who walk our dogs, who want our city to be the West Hollywood we have always loved. It is about all of us who know our regular lives are not reflected in the disconnected ideas of the current leadership. For this campaign, for OUR campaign to succeed, to bring back the ideas and values we find important, we all need to do everything we can. Every day. We need to stand up and fight for our city. I hope you will join us. Please consider signing up to volunteer, to talk to your neighbors, to host a small coffee in your home, to post a lawn sign, to donate a little money if you can. And most of all, I hope you will join us in voting on Election Day, March 8, 2011. I hope to earn your vote and to have the opportunity to be your voice on the West Hollywood City Council. Together, we can make West Hollywood great again! |
