Candidate for |
||||
|
William Rocky Brown, 3rd is officially the peoples candidate for the office of State Representative of the 159th District. During his initial announcement Brown explained that, "Leadership is Action not Position." Brown who brings a packed resume of political and professional experience to the race has vowed to be a voice in Harrisburg that will work with municipalities and elected officials regardless of political affiliation to address issues that affect the quality of life for constituents in the 159th Legislative District. Among those issues, Brown plans to address education, environment, crime, and economic development, all of which lend to the health and wellness of our communities. Brown, 54 who is the Assistant Pastor at Bethany Baptist Church and a Certified Addictions Counselor has dedicated over 30 years to the war against drugs, violence, and gangs. He is also affiliated with numerous social, fraternal, and government agencies. "Since entering this race, I have come to realize that the people of the 159th District are calling for change and a fresh perspective on solving problems and meeting needs. Our campaign represents the change we've all been looking for", said Brown. Once elected Brown promises to put "People before Party". "I am extremely excited about the race, as Rocky proposes transformational change that is systemic and strategic in nature. He seeks to abolish the status quo by representing the people not just the party, and he is not afraid to tackle the socially crippling issues that affect our communities. If those whom we have elected to represent us are no longer making a difference in the communities that they serve, then we as a people must be willing to make a change", says one Brown supporter. Brown is committed to carrying the voice of the people across party lines and straight to Harrisburg, realizing that he represents not only the Republican Party, but also the hopes, dreams and aspirations of the families of the 159th District. "When others are afraid to confront problems and identify solutions, I work with the community to get things done," said Brown. |
