Political Philosophy for Eleanor Torres
Candidate for |

|
If not now, when? That's the question I asked myself while contemplating my decision to run for the Rio School Board. I have resided in the district for over 35 years, was employed in the district for over 14 years, and my 3 children completed their elementary education in the district. The foundation of this district should be built with leadership that is strong in values, morals, and integrity. Not only is a valued education necessary to sustain our children in their adult life, but more so, a direction in self worth along with knowing that education and integrity can be achieved. I will work with our leaders and parents to raise the level of accountability not only for the students, but with those that are in direct contact with them. Have I ever been a trustee before? The answer is no. But I am a mother, grandmother, community member, church member, and a woman that knows who she is and is willing to work towards rebuilding a district we can be proud of. If you believe that our children are our future, please help me to ensure that they are given a chance. |
