- IT TAKES OUR VILLAGE TO EDUCATE OUR CHILDREN
-
The school district intentionally and systematically incorporates certain values into its curricula. These values are part of the district's culture, and are consciously taught and modeled by its teachers and administrators. We teach the value of respect for one's self as well as for others, while community involvement makes a student a stronger part of our Moorpark family.

Public schools don't have any control over the quality of their raw materials. Moreover, school leaders cannot always count on specific, stable revenues to fund programs, even if they deem such initiatives to be important for a quality education.
- WHERE ALL THE MONEY WENT
-
As chairman of the Measure R Bond campaign committe, I witnessed first hand in 2001 how the school district conducted surveys of residents in Moorpark to identify and prioritize projects to be earmarked for the general obligation bond (by law, funds can only be used for school facilities). The District itemized each of the projects according to the survey results, and included only those projects on the ballot that polled the highest on that survey.
