Candidate for
Council Member; City of Oxnard

As a private citizen and public servant, I have maintained the highest standard of ethics, honesty and integrity. I believe strongly in a social contract between the people of a community and the leaders they choose to govern. I will not place self-interests and special interests above the greater interests of the community.

Open Government: I will work to create a government in Oxnard that is fully transparent, accessible and accountable to the people. I will introduce an ordinance to ban all gifts and contributions from large entities with business before the city.

Higher Paying Jobs: I will promote a new high-tech and bio-tech corridor in Oxnard that will create high paying research and technology jobs. I will promote a joint-use regional airport at Point Mugu and an expanded rail system out of Port of Hueneme. I will also promote partnerships with business, higher education and trade schools to produce a highly trained local work force.

Neighborhood Revitalization: I will take on the tough challenge of beautifying Oxnard's neglected and overcrowded neighborhoods. I will also promote smart growth and preservation of open-space. A top priority will be the establishment of a world-renown wetlands park at Ormond Beach.
