? 1. In this time of high unemployment, what are the most important steps that should be taken to improve our nation’s economy?

Answer from Michael G "Mike" Paster:

The first step should be for our government to admit they are unable to and should not attempt to control our economy.

? 2. How should federal budget priorities be changed, now and into the future? How will you balance the costs of military action overseas and national security with the costs of domestic needs?

Answer from Michael G "Mike" Paster:

The Federal government should begin the process to close all of our foreign military bases. All of our troops should be withdrawn from Iraq and Afghanistan.

? 3. What, if anything, should be done by the federal government to address our dependence on fossil fuels or spur the use of clean energy?

Answer from Michael G "Mike" Paster:

There should be no subsides given to any energy company. People involved in the market will result in a myriad of different energy sources

? 4. What, if any, changes should be made to current federal policies or programs that promote or provide health coverage for Americans?

Answer from Michael G "Mike" Paster:

Government regulations on health care stifle competition. The only result has been higher prices. Repeal these rules and prices will fall.

? 5. What, if any, changes should be made to federal rules on campaign financing or disclosure of political expenditures?

Answer from Michael G "Mike" Paster:

Campaign finance rules so far have not changed politics in America. If a corrupt politician wants dirty money he/she will get it regardless of law. The current laws on the books only make it more difficult for smaller party candidates to compete in elections.
