Letter of intentionsBy Jim BahringerCandidate for Director; Cambria Community Services District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Position statementI hope to represent you as a member of Cambria Community Services District board. My wife Jan and I purchased property here in 1999 and completed a rebuild of the "Williams" property in 2002. We presently operate "Fog's End" as a Bed & Breakfast. During the last 10 years we have grown to love this town. The world has changed in the last decade. This truly unique village of Cambria is facing changes as well. Loss of jobs and tourism affect us all. Even though the population of Cambria has remained fairly steady, the CCSD's reach and cost has grown quite dramatically. Our search for a supplemental water resource and the difficulties in strengthening our capacity to fight fires has contributed toward that growth in government. However, I believe that while much progress has been made toward accomplishing those goals, we need to keep working toward a solution and simultaneously focus on increasing efficiencies in the District. As in any business, personnel costs, and associated retirement commitments are key budget considerations going forward. To stay in touch and revive the friendly vitality of our town I will sponsor ways to help us all join forces and work together. If elected I would seek simple solutions to our complex problems. My experience as a Sales Executive and business owner has prepared me to be an effective CCSD director. I thank you for your vote. |
