Trustee; Lodi Unified School District; Trustee Area 4

This information is provided by the candidate

I am 53 years old, married to my wife, Angie, for the past 30 years and have two wonderful children. Brett is 28 and is a chef in Napa and Crystal is a wonderful 24 year old young lady who also has Down Syndrome. It is because of Crystal that I have dedicated much of my adult life at the local and state-wide level advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities. We have lived in the Lodi Unified School District for about 20 years.

I have served on the ARC of San Joaquin County, The Area VI Board for Developmental Disabilities (where I served as Chair), the State Board of Area Boards (where I served as Legislative Coordinator), and currently serve as President of the Board of Valley Mountain Regional Center (VMRC). VMRC is a 501 c (3) non-profit which oversees services for over 9,000 individuals with developmental disabilities covering five counties with a budget of $140 million and 275 staff.

I have served for the past four years (one term) as Trustee for Lodi USD. I have used my education and over 30 years of experience in finance, budget and business operations to make numerous recommendations which have resulted in several millions of dollars of savings and/or additional funding for students.

Being a Graduate of the Masters in Governance Program from the California School Board Association has provided insight into the many issues related to effectively governing Lodi USD (the 30th largest school district in California and the third largest employer in the county). I earned my B.A. in Business Administration (concentration in Finance) from CSU, Stanislaus.
