Trustee; Manteca Unified School District; Trustee Area 4

Dear Fellow Community Memebers:

I am running for re-election as Manteca Unified School District Board Trustee for Area 4. I have served our community for the past 12 years and have seen our district grow and change in many ways. During these difficult economic times, we face new challenges to give our students the best possible education and to prepare them for the future of thier choice; whether that be college, vocational training, or joining the work force as a productive member of our community. Our state scores have improved in some areas, but I believe we can do even better.

My goal as trustee will be to continue to encourage open communication with staff and parents. I strongly believe in the importance of listening to the concerns and ideas of parents, students, teachers, and staff and working with them to reach all of our students greatest potential. I want parents to feel welcomed at board meetings and comfortable to share their ideas.

My four sons all attended Manteca Unified Schools. As a parent, I began attending school board meetings regularly; where I saw that the board's decisions has a huge impact on our students and their learning. This inspired me to get involved at the district level as a shool board trustee. Many issues have been challenging but I've never regretted my decision to serve. I ask for your support in my re-election, so that I can continue to make all the children of MUSD educational needs my top priority. Thank you, Nancy Teichiera
