Candidate for

Chris Shilling is an emerging public leader and lifelong resident of Chula Vista who, while working with the Westfield Group and General Growth Properties, has developed a reputation for turning around struggling organizations and developing high performing teams. He is currently the Public Safety Director at Otay Ranch Town Center and the Varsity Boy's Basketball Coach at High Tech High Chula Vista.

Appointed by the City Managers of Imperial Beach and National City, Chris is a current member of the City of Chula Vista's Board of Ethics. As a Commissioner he has worked with the Board and City Attorney's Office to completely revise the City's Code of Ethics.

Chris enjoys serving his community through participation and was appointed to the school site councils for both Kellogg and Tiffany Elementary Schools, where his daughters attend.

Affirming his commitment to lifelong learning he has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix as well as a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University. His broad range of experience and education has allowed him to consult on many leadership and organizational development issues at San Diego area businesses. He has also used his knowledge in the area of business to help his wife start a small business in the Chula Vista area, Irresistible Catering.

Chris's priorities are spending time with his family and serving the community. He currently lives in the Eastern Chula Vista area with his wife Brandee, two daughters, and newborn son.
