As a traditional Republican, I am greatly concerned about how the PPH District is going to pay off the bonds issued against the building of the hospital. Also, once the hospital is built, keeping the hospital beds filled and revenue flowing to offset expenditures will be a challenge. Finally, the ability to expand services to the outlying areas in the District could be hampered or curtailed if the new hospital, as well as the remodeling and expansion of existing facilities costs, increase beyond our ability to pay for them. Overlaying needed technology and IT initiatives can further impact an already strained budget.
Since these new enterprises place increased demands on the board of directors, requiring skills in business administration, as well as hospital administration and patient care, the District needs a person that can provide the knowledge and skills to address these issues. I possess those skills and it would be my pleasure to serve the residents in the PPH District on their Board.
