In the 12 years that I have served this wonderful 'Little School in the Valley', we have grown from 200 to 540 students and moved from our old location on Hwy 78 to our beautiful, farm themed campus on Rockwood Road. It required us to pass a school bond which we were able to do with a 77% pass rate. Obtaining the land from San Diego and getting the State to assist us took most of a year, but with hard work and persistance, we were able to make it happen. Our campus is ablsolutely beautiful and unique. We also instituted the annex on the Wild Animal Park, for our 4th grade class. This partnership is unique in the US. We started a private educational foundation which has grown and now assists us with several of the programs that we have difficulty funding. During my tenure we lost two superintendants and so did a laborious 3-4 month search. Interviewing and hiring two great new administrators provided great experience.
I am married with 6 children and 8 grandchildren, some of which attend this school. My experience and expertise on the board will continue to keep our district in the black, and on the right track. Experience counts for kids!
