The Good Work being Done in San Dieguito High School District

Always focus on what's best for our students...period.

All of our schools have earned state and/or national recognition for excellence - including the highest Academic Performance Index (API) in the county for both a middle school and a high school
All of our high schools are named in Newsweek magazine as being among the nation's best (http://www.newsweel.com/feature/2010/americaqs-best-high-schools.html).
Our high school students are taking more Advanced Placement (AP) tests than ever before (a 48% increase since 2004) and passing more than ever before (a 29% increase in the passing rate). Our overall passing rate is an unprecedented 80%, earning our students college credit.
Solar projects at 2 of our high schools will provide 70% of each of the individual site's electrical needs and save the district $7.7 million in energy bills.
We have developed career/curriculum focusing on areas such as biotech, robotics, and engineering to give our students academic opportunities with real-world applications.
Using computer technology, parents and students have 24/7 access to homework assignments, grades, and attendance data. Communication between teacher and parent has improved tremendously.

These are examples of the many areas in which our district is showing its hard-earned progress towards the goal of providing the best education and learning environment possible for our students. Such accomplishments are the results of the collaborative work between the school board, parents, community members, staff, and students. Is there room for improvement?? Always! "Just" remain student focused.
