My motivation for running for Fire Board
Residents of Deer Springs Fire District:
I am running for the Board of Directors of the Deer Springs Fire Protection District. Several events of the past three years have convinced me that the greatest threat to our property and lifestyle is wildfires. We live in a high risk fire zone, and the primary cause of wildfire (people) is ever increasing. I want to contribute as much as I can to deter this danger, and the Fire Board is the logical forum in which to invest my efforts.
Many of you know Bruce Tebbs, a member of the Board, who played a large role in helping to turn the Merriam Mountain project back. We worked together in that fight and he is running for re-election to the Board. Bob Haney you probably do not know but he is a clear thinking, motivated Hidden Meadows resident who sees the issues and solutions as we do. We three have decided to campaign as a "TEAM" for the three open positions on the Board. If successful, it would give us a majority vote on the important board decisions and make the contentious, often dysfunctional meetings a thing of the past. Our goal is to protect the community from the wildfire hazard in the most vigorous, effective manner possible and seeing that the Fire Board's share of our property taxes are efficiently used to accomplish this. The battles against too rapid, poorly planned over development of our rural/agricultural areas will continue, I'm sure.
If these thoughts resonate with you, please vote for us this November and ask your neighbors to also. If you can give us any financial help to defray the cost of flyers, signs, etc. please do so to the address below and write "campaign fund" on your check.
Respectfully
Tony Eason
