Few Key areas facing our district that need to be addressed by our School Board or working with Local/ State & Federal legislators to work together to solve these key issues.A. Our finances-not being reimbursed by the state of California to provide the best education possible. B. Unfunded Mandates from the State and Federal Government without reimbursement or a funding source. C. During these last several years, unfortunately we have had to cut our staff extremely thin, but still we are required to meet the State and Federal Government rigorous testing and results. Our teachers and staff have done an incredible job during these difficult times and I commend them all as they go above and beyond their call of duty. I believe we need to continue to put strong pressure on the State and Federal Government to only require mandates that are funded. Streamline the way we do paperwork, so it is not repetitive. D. Work with legislators to provide us with proper ADA money and money for programs that always run in the negative ie; Special Education and transportation of Special Ed students to name a few. E. In recent years we have had huge influx of Middle Eastern families with children that have changed our schools dramatically. To me this is a major issue with our district, and I feel that the State and Federal Government should compensate us to help teach those English as soon with the burden going just to our teachers who do not even understand their language. Our teachers are doing an incredible job educating these children the resources they have |
