I care deeply about the children in the Pajaro Valley Schools and would be honored to serve the district as Trustee for Area 1, Aptos/Corralitos. I have the creativity, the desire, and the ability to make improvements to the schools of the Pajaro Valley Unified School District. WE CAN DO BETTER! As a social worker and the mother of children, ages 9 and 12, I am committed to improving our community. Six years ago I began a journey to improve Valencia Elementary. That first year, I was surprised to discover that the school had no working computers -- for children or teachers, just 30 miles from Silicon Valley, and yet no working technology! Since that time, I have worked tirelessly along with a group of talented individuals, driven to improve our public school. Achievements include successful grant writing ($130k) and project management, which enabled Valencia to:
