Candidate for
Board Member; Fremont Union High School District

I strongly believe that our public schools are an important community asset. They provide our youth with opportunities to fulfill their potential and become positive contributors to our community and the world.

Our schools must meet the needs of all students. We need to provide challenges such as Advanced Placement classes for our top students, and we also need to provide programs to help students who come to our district behind in math, literacy, or other areas. We need comprehensive programs that complement strong classes in core academic areas with music, art, athletics, and other activities that allow students to nurture their interests and connect with out schools.

In order to accomplish this in the face of limited resources, we need to plan, prioritize, and measure the effectiveness of innovative programs we undertake. Above all we must continue to foster the team approach in our district that has teachers, administrators, and staff working together toward the common goal of student success.
