Questions & Answers

1. What experience and training would you bring to this office?

Strong Community leadership Served on Several local Boards Gavilan Community College Graduate Experienced support of Gavilan Services Bond Committee Volunteer Many local, state and Federal Contacts and Resources

2. What do you see as the role of the board in labor negotiations?

Allow Administrative staff, faculty and classified staff to work out best negotiation solution possible. Based on budget information and best interest of all concerned, vote to support the most amicable contract.

3. What are your goals for the college? Are students, faculty and staff currently meeting those goals?

Staff and faculty do a great job. I am, though, concerned about working with staff to support raising student retention higher than 65%. Support student services and categorical programs for long term sustainability. Very interested in helping Gavilan's future campus sites in Hollister and Morgan Hill.
