Adela Saadat's ballot statement

By Adela Saadat

Candidate for Trustee; Santa Clara Unified School District; Trustee Area 3

This information is provided by the candidate
All children can succeed and they deserve the best education possible.
All children have the ability to succeed in school. Our persistent achievement gap shows we need to provide more robust educational options for our kids.

We must make programs with proven effectiveness, like Basics-plus, available to more students. We must allocate greater resources to support teachers and retain programs.

A two-decades resident of Santa Clara, married 26 years with four children, I'm a SCUSD Schoolsite Council Chair from 2008. I'm an active school volunteer and Girl Scouts leader. I earned mentor of the year accolades from Future Scientists and Engineers of America.

I'm a Santa Clara homeowner and local small business owner with a B.S. in Business Management. I know the impact great education has on kids and families, home values and local businesses, and our Community as a whole.

The Trustees you elect today will determine the District's direction for many tomorrows. The 2010 Board will select SCUSD's next Superintendent and oversee its Long Range Plan for facilities, personnel, programs, and educational opportunities.

Please vote for fiscal responsibility, administrative accountability, transparency in governance, increased educational opportunities, supporting teachers and staff, and narrowing the achievement gap.
