Mayor; City of Santa Clara

A Personal View:

I am a fifth generation Santa Claran with my ancestors coming to Santa Clara by covered wagon in 1846.

I have been married 24 wonderful years to the love of my life Julie who also a native Santa Claran. I do not have a meaningful memory without her. We have raised four amazing children attending the same local schools we attended. We were fortunate to purchase a small home in 1993 and when the children are fully grown and on their own, it will be just the right size for Jules and I. We have enjoyed every moment being parents, and are in no hurry for this time pass.

Jules and I have had a great time and continue to be active volunteers at every school and our children's activities from baseball at Westside Little League, Football and Baseball at Santa Clara High and Music at Westwood, Washington Open, Buchser and Santa Clara.. We are a very musical family and all the children play instruments and have had the opportunity to perform with the Buchser Band to thousands before the Santa Clara Fireworks, in Disneyland and the Montreux Jazz Festivals in Switzerland.

I am very proud to be a Santa Claran. One of the many wonderful things about our City is that you can spend just a few minutes in conversation with someone else and will often find a common connection through friends, family, activities or school. This is the reason why Santa Clara still feels like a small town even though we have more than 117,000 residents.
