As your Trustee I am asking for your vote so that I may continue my work on bringing positive and long lasting changes to the Alum Rock Elementary Union School District. My focus continues to be to improve student achievement, increase parent involvement, and develop system accountability. During my term, I worked hard in helping pass a $147M school bond measure and a $3.2M/year parcel tax measure.Over the last four years as a Trustee, I initiated and led efforts to establish a two year district goal to ensure that all students reach proficient or advanced in state standard exams by the year 2011. Additionally, I created six committees to increase: student achievement, parent/community participation, financial stability, utilization of modern technology to improve academic achievement. I also increased parent participation at all of our schools, and created a monthly video synopsis for greater transparency. As your Trustee I truly enjoy meeting regularly (2 schools every Friday) with students, parents, teachers, and principals to monitor the progress toward our two year goal. I ask for your support to allow me to continue these efforts. For more information or details go to http://www.voteforgustavo.com. Thank you for your support and vote. |
