During Esteves' tenure as Mayor, major positive changes happened in the City of Milpitas.Leadership - Accomplishments : Jose Esteves During my tenure as Mayor(2002-2008), here are my major accomplishments:
-New Berryessa Creek Trail Opening -New Coyote Creek Trail Opening -Acquisition of County Property around Elmwood for Housing -Cesar Chavez Garden -Added New Parks named after 2 former Mayors During my term as Mayor and working with VTA, Caltrans, others, the following were opened: o Light Rail Station Opening + Great Mall area (Jun 2004) o 237/880 Interchange Completion (Apr 2004) o 880/Dixon Landing Interchange Completion (Jun 2004) o 880/237 Carpool Lane Opening (Apr 2005) o 680 Soundwall Completion (Nov 2005) o Montague Expressway Improvements o Streetscaped and Improved Abel Street @ Elmwood completed early 2008 During Esteves' tenure as Mayor: Milpitas was ranked 17th, Nationwide, as Best Livable City Financial Rating has been AA, highest for a State in California Economic Development Commission was created for more jobs and businesses in Milpitas Raising a Reader was initiated and implemented for quality education Joe Esteves was Voted Best Elected Official, 2002-2008 Milpitas New Library(the City's biggest project) was Completed on budget and on schedule(Nov, 2008) under Joe Esteves' leadership -100 % attendance in City Council meeting for 10 years(all my elected years) -Widely endorsed by officials and citizens Civil and Industrial Engineer, MBA- College Scholar http://www.estevesformayor.com |
