9. Listening to you and working on your behalf is my top priority: the children my husband and I raised in Los Altos during the past 20 years are grown; my schedule as a part-time college teacher is flexible.

8. I'll hit the ground running. Learning how to be an effective City Councilmember takes time; I've been serving on the Los Altos City Council for the past five years, so that steep learning curve is behind me. I know the issues and have demonstrated my leadership in addressing them.

7. I propose practical solutions in the long-term interest of the entire community, and balance desired changes with preserving what is cherished. I get things done.

6. I kept my commitments to you. For the next four years I'll continue to focus on City finances, safe streets, a thriving downtown, community resources, neighborhood character, and a strong local economy.

5. As a Stanford MBA and Silicon Valley executive, I managed departmental budgets the size of the city's annual budget. I know how to set priorities and make tough trade-offs. I've brought best practices from industry to City government.

4. As a member of the Los Altos Village Association Board of Directors, I've worked hard to support existing Los Altos businesses, and to provide the increased foot traffic and larger retail spaces required to attract new restaurants and shops.
