My Message to Voters.By SOPHIA GREENCandidate for Member, Governing Board; Fontana Unified School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
I would like to ask you to visit the California Department of Education website accountability section for the Fontana Unified School District. You will notice our overall (LEA-wide) Math proficiency is 47.8%, English 44.1% and even worst for English Learners and Special Education. We did not meet the 56% mark this year and will probably NOT meet the 67% expected next school year. I would like us to all take a stand, tell all three incumbents enough is enough.I would like to ask you to visit the California Department of Education website accountability section for the Fontana Unified School District. Vote Sophia Green if you would like to see our students go to vocational schools, community colleges, military, open small businesses, and be great employees! Let's take a stand for our children! Vote Sophia Green for Fontana Unified School Board. Vote Sophia Green. Please visit the California Department of Education, and see for yourself. http://ayp.cde.ca.gov/reports/AcntRpt2010/2010APRDstAYPReport.aspx?cYear=&allCds=3667710&cChoice=AYP9b I am cardinally interested in school improvement, fiscal responsibility and accountability. I truly care about the future of our children, our community and our country. My goals as a candidate for the Fontana Unified School Board are to bring diversity to the board and increase transparency at every level. While managing for results, I want to see all programs bench-marked so the board is able to evaluate the outcomes of each program. I would like to achieve a cleaner and safer environment for our children. Finally, I want to increase board involvement and the approachability of the administration to better serve our citizens. I want people to be able to communicate their needs and expectations in return. I will respond to the actual, not perceived, needs of the people. Allowing our teachers to base their curriculum around each of our children's needs will increase curriculum and classroom proficiency. As a teacher, I am aware of the fundamental curriculum for our children and I know through our dedication we can create a plan of achievement for our Fontana Unified Schools |
