Reforming our Water District

The District was run into the ditch

First was the bunker mentality of Senior Staff which make this district the most opaque and user-unfriendly that I have ever witnessed. Every customer was enemy, they were lied to and told to go away. After years of this, nobody knew what was going on inside.

Second, the Board was asleep at the switch and Senior Staff allowed the finances to go disastrously south until they had to mortgage our public infrastructure to cover costs. They borrowed from us to pay the bills and told us to go away. The result is that we are saddled with a cost triple of the mortgaged amount.

Reform following financial disaster is never easy or quick, but the District has new management and we will get it back on a sound financial footing.
