Political Philosophy for Valerie J. (Cronk) Kushnerov
Candidate for |
||||
|
As an incumbent and parent from a school that represents the rich diversity of our District, I understand the challenges facing our educational community and the broad spectrum of learning that happens in our classrooms. During my four years as a Board Member, my priorities have been to implement the District's Academic Strategic Plan, create a budget that keeps cuts away from the classroom, provide a safe and healthy environment for student success, and support our District staff by regularly visiting our school sites and seeking their valuable input. I will continue to:
1) Advocate for classroom environments that are vibrant with critical thinking and real achievement so that each child can live up to his/her fullest potential;
2) Promote fiscal responsibility and careful budgeting to maximize our resources;
3) Support competitive compensation for teachers and staff. I will work hard and use common sense to make our schools stronger for every child. I promise to listen and stay accessible. You can depend on me to act with integrity and to approach decisions with an open mind. I will never forget the importance of what is at stake + OUR children and their futures. |
