Summary of Goals and Qualifications

• Our schools are an environment where children are safe and where they know they are secure.

• The district continues to improve toward the goal of providing the highest quality education to every child, regardless of status or school site.

• The district is seeking and obtaining all available traditional and non-traditional sources of funding.

• The district is using resources in the most responsible, efficient and beneficial manner and that the district is accountable to the community.

I have been a full time peace officer for 16 years and a detective in crimes against children for the past eight years. I have worked extensively with the community, schools and child welfare agencies to investigate crimes and protect children. My experience has required that I examine issues from every perspective, question assumptions, and avoid jumping to conclusions. I have served on county and statewide panels with experts in the law enforcement, legal, social services and medical fields to improve the safety of children through prevention, detection, investigation and prosecution of crimes. I also currently serve the community as vice president of the Liberty Ranch Jr Hawks Football and Cheer board. I believe my experience has given me an ability to examine issues from all angles and to work in collaboration to address the challenges and opportunities that will face the district in the coming years.
