Business Development

By Sam Toles

Candidate for Council Member; City of Cathedral City

This information is provided by the candidate
In order to build the kind of future we all want to see for Cathedral City, we must create a stable source of employment, build a thriving commercial sector, and lead the valley in innovative public/private collaboration.
As a Vice President of Business Development of a publicly traded company, I have created jobs in this tough economy and grown my company's revenue to record levels during this economic downturn. I want to do the same for our city by:

-Supporting and promoting existing businesses in our city.
-Creating a path for dynamic new business to locate here.
-Cut red tape with a goal of becoming the most business friendly city in the valley.

In order to thrive and stand out among a community of several cities, we must develop and improve our city's image. My plan calls for:

-Facade beautification.
-A strong "cluster" driven marketing approach for our local businesses.

Being located in the heart of a resort destination, we must enhance our tourism industry through:

-Building a conference facility to attract business groups.
-Focus on bringing hotels to our city as the economy improves.
-Create exciting and enticing events to attract visitors and locals alike.
