Vote Thomas "Tom" Layte For Beaumont Unified School Board Trustee Dear Neighbor, I am walking through your neighborhood today introducing myself and respectfully requesting your consideration and decision to vote for me as 1 of your 3 choices for Beaumont School Board Trustee. I decided to run for the School Board to ensure a continued focus on Student Safety, Teacher and Staff retention, and the provision of "World Class Education" for our children through these tough economic times. By bringing a background in healthcare management and public sector supervision I believe that I have the right mix of experience to make the fiscally prudent decisions that will be faced by the district in the upcoming years. If you're wondering, "What makes Tom Layte a Great Choice?" then let me answer that question with the following facts: Awarded Masters Degree from San Diego State University - 1990 Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in 1993 Program Director - San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital Behavioral Health Center - 1995-1997 Clinic and Intensive Treatment Team Supervisor Riverside County Department of Mental health - 1995 Planning Commission Chairperson for the City of Banning - 1996-1998 Contractor for the Beaumont Unified School District providing anger management, crisis and addictive behavior counseling to Students at Beaumont High School - 1996-2008 Currently owns and operates a Private Healthcare Practice serving Pass area residents since 1997 Alternate member on the Beaumont High School Site Council - 2009-2010 Current Beaumont Adult School Advisory Board Member- 2010 Current member and Past President of the Banning Kiwanis Club Endorsed by the Beaumont Teachers Association These are some of my accomplishments and I will bring the same Dedication and Integrity to the School Board as a Trustee. I will spend the time and diligently investigate costly proposals before making decisions. I will ensure to the best of my ability that during these tough economic times all budgets will prioritize educational needs and safety. I will do my best to avoid requests for more money through special assessments or bond measures and instruct management to work within their means. Together we can make a difference. Sincerely, Thomas "Tom" Layte - Candidate for School Board |
