My goal as a school trustee is to be fiscally prudent and ensure that every education tax dollar is spent in the most cost-effective manner. I pledge to manage the school district budget and finances with transparency, be accountable to the public, and allocate limited resources to enhance student learning.

I have broad community support from people who want to improve our schools and elect an independent representative. I have the professional expertise, knowledge and vision to ensure that Newport-Mesa schools provide the 1st class education needed to prepare students to be successful college and careers in rapidly changing global economy.

I support rigorous academic standards and will promote a college curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking, sciences, and the latest technology. Students in our public schools need practical life skill classes like business, entrepreneurship, personal finance, and vocational training for those not college bound. My priorities will focus on student learning and achievement in the classroom, and I will promote programs in the arts, music, athletics, and technology.

I will adopt adopt fiscally responsible budgets that reduce waste and duplication at the district level, and ensure equity and financial accountability in implementing Measure F school bond improvements.

Most of all I will be independent and promote transparency in all school district operations, and involve all of the stakeholders - parents, teachers, and community members in the educational goals of the NMUSD.

Finally I will work to establish term limits for Newport-Mesa School Board Members (three 4-year terms maximum) to bring fresh perspectives and new solutions to solve the issues that the school district faces.

I have been involved in Newport-Mesa schools and pre-school education for over 20 years. I am committed to use my knowledge and expertiseto address the issues and improve education in our school district today.
