1. Governing Board Member, Buena Park School District; 31 years (1979 to present); I ran for election the first time when my 1st daughter started kindergarten; currently Board President (I've done this six times); and I have been Board Clerk for five years.

  • Attended BPHS (Class of `67) as did my husband, our daughters, 2 of our sons-in-law, and about 40 other extended family members.
  • Married to Greg since 1970--but we've known each other for a much longer time; we grew up in the same church;
  • 4 daughters (Maggie, Erin, Katie, Anna), 4 sons-in-law, 4 granddaughters, 4 grandsons [& 1 grandson on the way!]
  • Hobbies--sewing (my hobby since I was 10), gardening, interior design, golf, walks with my hubby, playing with grandchildren

Excerpt from Candidate Statement:

Buena Park is my home--I have lived here all my life, met and married my husband Greg here, raised four daughters. Four of our grandchildren and their parents live here. As with my family, I will model pride in our Buena Park heritage.

Buena Park is my workplace--I taught for fifteen years at Buena Park High School, where I coordinated a program for high achievers, Advanced Academics Academy. I currently work at home as an online Adjunct Assistant Professor of Education for Hope International University. As at school, I will diligently fulfill my responsibilities.

Buena Park is my place of service--I have served on the Buena Park School District Board for thirty-one years, and I am active in Rotary. As on the School Board, I will make decisions in the best interests of Buena Park citizens.
