My family has lived in the Placentia Yorba Linda area for more than six generations. Four generations of my family have gone through the district schools. I attended Kindergarten through high school in the district. I now have three children in the district. I have a vested interest in the success of the Placentia Yorba Linda School District.

I would like to represent the students and families of the district. In the past few years I have heard parents say they feel they don't have a voice and are not being heard. I would like to open the lines of communication between the families and district administrators.

I am very involved in the community and have the opportunity to speak with many parents in different settings. My family is involved in church, schools, sports organizations, community groups, and work.

I am a member of National Charity League. I volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House where we prepare, cook and serve meals to families whose children are in local hospitals. I volunteer at Second Harvest Homeless Shelter. I am a Philanthropy Liason to MADD. I am a member of the Yorba Linda Country Riders.

I have been very active in the schools my children have attended. I have run the student store at Yorba Linda Middle School for four years. This has allowed me to work very closely with teachers, students and administrators on a daily basis. I have held many positions on the PTSA boards. I have served as President, Vice-President, Ways and Means, Secretary, and Hospitality. I have served as the President of an Athletic Booster club. I have also served on the Instrumental Music Executive Board. I have been on the Superintendent's Community Advisory Council for seven years. I am on the School Site Council for Yorba Linda Middle School. I was on the boundary committee for Melrose Elementary and Valadez Academy. I worked with the WASC team to help gain accreditation for Yorba Linda High School. I am familiar with many schools in the district and have seen what works and what makes each school unique.

My experience and involvement with the community allows me to interact with students, teachers and families within the district on a daily basis. This will enable me to communicate between all parties involved.
