Term Limits...20 Years and Counting

We voted for term limits. A 12 year term limit law was passed by voters at 73.9% in 2004. However, incumbents who have been on council for twenty years each, grandfathered themselves into the law and now want four additional years. As lawmakers, public servants should also follow the spirit of the law and adhere to the will of the voters they serve.

When the same people are in charge for too long, organizations become stale and ineffective. In this election you can show that your voice matters. 20 years on City Council is too long. Great leaders don't ignore the voice of the people, they listen to them. Our first President, the great General Washington, gracefully and voluntarily stepped down from office after two terms. George Washington lead by example and set the precedent for how public servants should act. It's time for new leadership to take our city into the new decade.

America can only be re-built by refreshing the local communities. A vigilant movement is stirring across this country. The motto for restoring American values and creating a broader vision for a better future must be:

"The Incumbents Must Go!"

It's time we have leaders who are eager to listen.

It's time to move ahead with the redevelopment projects.

It's time we fill the vacant buildings with stores you want to shop at.

It's time we get on the cutting edge instead of making cuts to city personnel.

It's time for new leadership to take Fountain Valley into the new decade.

You voted for term limits of twelve years on City Council members. It's time the incumbents who keep ignoring that begin to take heed.

It's time, in this election, that you show the world, that what the people of a democracy say + matters!
